Hertfordshire County Council coordinates all admissions to the main school – Reception through to Year 6 (this also includes all in-year applications). Our Published Admission Number each year is 60. All the information that you will need to make an application can be obtained from the HCC website at www.hertsdirect.org. The website includes interactive copies of application form booklets and a directory listing all schools with reception classes, junior schools and middle schools in Hertfordshire. We would encourage all prospective parents to make an appointment to view the school.
Nursery admissions are managed by the school. The application process for September 2020 is now closed. If you would like to make a late application please contact the school office to add your name to our waiting list.
New Starter Information
Due to the current exceptional circumstances relating to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to follow our usual transition procedures for new pupils.
In place of visits to the school we have created a virtual tour and have adapted our systems, with new starter information now available in an online format. We know this won’t be the same as visiting the school but we hope that we will have covered the information you require and answered any questions you may have. However, please do contact us if you require any further information.
An admissions form will need to be completed for all new entrants to the school. A link to this document will be sent to you once your child’s admission to Oak View School has been authorised. Please then select the other forms and documents that are relevant to your child from the sections below.
2021-2022 Parent Information Sheet
Information has been sent to our Reception 2021-2022 cohort. Please contact the admin team if you require further information.
If you wish to make a late application for a place in our 2021-2022 Nursery class (for children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018) please contact the school office.
- Forest School 2020-2021 (2MB)

Parents must apply online at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to obtain an eligibility code before a 30 hour place can be confirmed. Applications can be made as early as 16 weeks before your child’s third birthday.
Notes to parent
How the information on the application form will be used:
By completing this form and signing the declaration you are agreeing for Oak View School, if they are oversubscribed, to check whether your child’s details meet the school’s published admission rules and if he/she can be offered a nursery place.
Any personal data collected will be treated as confidential under the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not use the data for any other purpose, nor will we share your data with any third parties other than the Department for Education (for statutory reporting), Hertfordshire County Council departments who may from time to time send you advice, guidance and information relating to changes to early years provision and educational services that are relevant and/or of benefit to your child, and your local children’s centre who support the local authority by assisting families to access the services that children are entitled to.
Children who have been adopted from care or are subject to a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order.
Eligibility will be based on your declaration that your child was formally a looked after child and on the evidence of their status e.g. a copy of the relevant order. This form and a copy of the relevant order should be seen by the school and they will confirm with Hertfordshire County Council that they have seen confirmation and enable a place to be offered under this criteria.
We hope that you find all the information you need but should you have any questions or require further information or help then please contact the school office on 01707 280590 or email us.
